New shop?

The new design is very close to being done. Actually, I only need 2 things: Setting up races (so that they start and all that stuff) and finishing the new starting page. When these things are done, the new design should be ready to go.
I hoped to be done with this by the end of the season, but now with only 2 days left, I see that it's going to be hard, as my own cycling season is starting tomorrow with races the next following 2 days! The new design will however very soon be released, and I hope you all are looking forward - At least I am!

Along with the new design comes also a new shop, as well as a new way of picking equipment - or well, actually picking equipment!
In the future you will have to buy different frames, wheels (for the beginning - more stuff coming later) and build your own bike of various equipment. You can design bikes to be light weight - good for mountains - or perhaps a time trial bike is more preferable? Of course, each team is allowed to setup more than one bike (limited to 3).
The new system will run through the shopping page, which will be much different (you'll see about that when the new design is ready!) and the equipment page where you setup your bikes. This also means that when you sign up for a race, you now have to make another choice as well; which bike to use?

The new equipment system will give a new dimension to the game. I hope you like this instead of the old. I myself really think it's an upgrade. :o)

Glad it's nearly done, it looks
cool and the shop is a nice
  feature.

I spent 50,000 coins upgrading my
bike only about 10 days ago though!
Is this going to be totally wasted?
Or will people who have already
  upgraded bikes get vouchers or
something to spend on the new
  equipment?

You will get the money you spent
  most recently, meaning that you
will get 50,000 coins back. If you
  bought the next one costing
100,000, you would only get the
100,000 back, and not the first
50,000. The loss in that case would
have been made up from the benefit
you would have had meanwhile. I
think it's most fair this way.
I did though do a lot of thinking
on this topic, and I'm not 100%
convinced that this is how I'm
going to do it, though it will
  probably end up like that.

  The design looks awesome.

  Hmm.. I'm assuming that I shouldn't
yet try to buy any of the new
  frames or wheels? :)
