Rene Vreeswijk breaks the ice

The many climbs in Ans Hills didn't give any good ideas for the riders. No riders attacked the entire stage through. When the final climb was near, the strongest riders settled themselves in front of the peloton. haarlem cycling took a confident lead, supporting Rene Vreeswijk. The devistating tempo set by haarlem cycling crushed rider by rider. When Rene Vreeswijk ran out of supporting riders, he had only 3 other competitors to beat. One of them, Fausto Dinis (ESTRELAS PT), launched a quick attack and managed to sit a lone in front for a short time. He only had Rene Vreeswijk and Rui Paredes (ESTRELAS PT) behind him now. Fausto Dinis could not keep the tempo high, and eventually, both Rene Vreeswijk and Rui Paredes passed him by.
Rui Paredes launched the sprint, but Rene Vreeswijk outrunned him and became the winner.
Rene Vreeswijk was happy with the result. It has been my dream for a long time to win this stage, and finally I succeed, said the smiling winner.
Matt, manager of haarlem cycling, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Rene Vreeswijk was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Rene Vreeswijk's result. Rene Vreeswijk did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said Matt.
