Dennis van Bommel powers to victory

Sterk Cycling's Dennis van Bommel defeated his nearest competitors when the peloton arrived at the finishing line in Hit and Run on Mafia Island. Lode Van Paemel from Cios Vigo opened the sprint with Dennis van Bommel right behind him, though Lode Van Paemel had no chance to follow his competitors when Dennis van Bommel boosted ahead. Dennis van Bommel won the stage only a few inches ahead of Khans's Baasankhuu Odgerel who took the second place. Lode Van Paemel barely held his position as third.
Sterk Cycling's Dennis van Bommel didn't hide his joy when winning the Hit and Run on Mafia Island. It's incredible. I didn't expect this at all. I just wanted to try, I aimed for being 5th or 6th, but suddenly I was in the lead! said the happy winner.
It's good to see Dennis van Bommel fulfilling his ambitions winning this stage. He deserves the victory more than anyone else, said the proud manager of Sterk Cycling, John Sterk, and continued: The team was a good support for him (Dennis van Bommel) today, and he clearly proved his worth in sprint.
