Surprising victory of Latif Ragheb

Even though several riders tried to break away, no one managed to keep it going in Medellin - Paramo Frontino. The strongest riders in the peloton stayed together in the leading group. The finishing climb became a secretion of riders, until Latif Ragheb (Ribeiros Bike Shop) and Rafiki Jean de Dieu Kalisa (Lindfield Locknuts) were alone in the front. As it looked as they were heading for a sprint on the top, Rafiki Jean de Dieu Kalisa suddenly could follow Latif Ragheb who climbed the final kilometre alone. The audience cheered as Latif Ragheb crossed the line with his arms raised high. Rafiki Jean de Dieu Kalisa came in a little later as second. The third place were terminated by a group of 4 who sprinted a long. Wit Litwin was fastest in the group, and safely took the third place.
I'm still surprised that I could do this. Only when I was getting near the finishing line I realized that I had the chance of winning, said a shocked, but happy, Latif Ragheb and continues: I owe my team a big thank for their great support today. Without them, this couldn't be possible.
Daniel Dias , manager of Ribeiros Bike Shop, was happy with the result: The whole team did well today. Everything turned out as we hoped, and luckily, Latif Ragheb was the strongest rider out there today. The proud manager didn't hide that he was satisfied with Latif Ragheb's result. Latif Ragheb did well. No one deserved the victory more than him. He put his focus on this stage long ago, and he kept his motivation high. I'm happy for him and the team, said Daniel Dias .
