  Hey guys

We are now in the final hours of the first event of the 10 year celebration, which means that it is now time to kick off the next event.

What better way would there be to celebrate 10 years than looking back?

  The History Books
It is time to fill up the history books. Write the rider biographies and race description. Fill out the game with all the details and all the stuff that make our little digital riders come to live.

I recently released the achievements feature, which gives all the usual contributors to the OCM HD a chance to get some recognition by getting the achievement in bronze, silver or gold.

Now, to give you extra motivation to complete the history books of Cycling Simulator, every approved OCM HD entry will reward the author with 1 free scout and 1.000 $ free to spend! There are no limitations on how much money or how many free scouts you can earn in this event.

The event will run for 14 days as of right now.

If anyone is interested in keeping track of the newest additions, I will gladly make a competition as well in which the best OCM HD entry during this event is rewarded with an additional price. Please let me know if anyone is interested in hosting and running this competition. :)

Happy typing guys, I hope you will join in with this celebration as well. :)

  Best regards,
  OCM Developer Nick

  ** SOME SPECIFICATIONS **

  - The event ends on the 20th of April at 22:40.
  - The free scouts and cash reward is only given to entries that are approved before the expiry of the event.
  - I will keep track of the number of entries - up until today, 599 submissions have been made, and 425 of those were approved.

If it is crappy you can still vote against it, so the worst should be weeded out. I guess I will get to work. Nice to have a bit of extra motivation to get that badge.

I wrote a riders biography this morning.

It was double placed because of a mistake, I couldn t delete one of them.

One was going good, the other not, logical.
At 13:20 it was 10-0, good I thought.
  Now away, and biography placed.

But: no money, no free scout, and ...... the free scouts, I didn t use yet, from the 1e ten years event, all go away!!!
All 20 free scouts are gone away, strange

Dustin, I had a few race descriptions approved as well. I can confirm that I haven't received any money or scouts (I assumed they will be handed out when the event ends).

I can also confirm that all my scouts have disappeared as well.

Gonna boo everyone who votes against though.

  BOOOO!

P.S. Also if anyone thinks their English isn't good enough to qualify, I'm happy to help with a quick edit as long as it's not too bad and it's your first submission.

I like the idea, but I do think the submissions should actually add something. Biographies for jobbers and such is just abusing the event, as well as three line race descriptions in which 5 seconds of effort was put in.

I tend to vote against bad ones. I prepared one of my first Turkish tour rider Senel Nedim and a dh race which has been long time around. Maybe few more Turks...

I think I have two accepted but have not received any bonus among with the other free scouts gone away.

  Hey guys

Everyone who lost their free scouts and did not get their new free scout + the additional 1.000$ for their entry in the OCM HD should PM me. I will give back the free scouts and the money.

Please let me know how many you had and the entry as well.

I will basically trust that you all put the right numbers. I will however make random check ups to see if it was actually true. If not, you are in deep trouble. ;)

You can do a bio for retired riders. You just have to do the old search trick, i.e, you search for the rider, click the name, copy the riderid from the URL and then paste it to after the = here
  http://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=Rider%20Profile&id=

Then you can write a bio.

Can we compile a list of some of the best entries so far, or at least a page where we can see the latest approved submissions?

This might help the quality of future entries and also give an idea of what is needed for some of our elite races.

I hate seeing these one paragraph entries that get downvoted to oblivion. It ends up being a waste of everybody's time.

Just submitted 2 entries for riders Thibault Zimmer and Brent Wieringh, i will add one more later on for Carlton Cambridge.

About race description i have more competency on french races, but i first would like "Ruoen"-Paris to be renamed "Rouen", that is the right spell of this city ! ;)

i've never been into writing race descriptions, but i'm considering it now.
just to get it right: is it completely up to the writers phantasy where exactly the race route goes along, which nearby cities are visited, places of interest etc? (as long as it makes sense and goes with the race properties, of course)

As long as it makes sense, it is all up to you. Some of the races were designed with an actual route in mind but you can make up your own.

Of course if you want to write for the stages of Norway tour you have to be creative to make it fit as most of the stages would be 500km or longer IRL.

  Fine.

I'm curious how anyone will transform 500+km into 200-. Maybe some technical demanding wormholes. Although not much TQ required @ Norway Tour :)

Answering question from Team Cevital: I dont know the exact numbers, but it is something like you need 11 votes for with 0 votes against, 13 votes for with 1 against, 15 votes for with 2 against ect...

So your Djelfa GP is 8-0 now so just needs 3 more votes to be accepted. Tibagi ITT is on 4-3 so will require around 10-12 positie votes more to get in. ACSS Lobet is 5-7 so this one will be probably rejected, you would probably need over 25 votes for to get in...

I'm sorry for the extreme delay on this. I have not forgotten about it and everyone will have their freescouts back.

I received more requests than I expected and it is manual work which I simply haven't had the time to do yet. Life's been awfully busy. I will get to it as soon as possible. Hopefully no later than this weekend.
