The american dream, in words of Henry Christian, was road cycling. The young californian guy started his love relationship with cycling close to Mount Shasta, mainly because weather was excellent during summer, when he had free time to practice. With 16 years old he became junior state champion against local talents of his state, and he took a break from road to try his skills in kearin; however a call from a new road cycling team convinced him to lead a fresh and new project, US Postal. Several injuries during season 50 and part of season 51 forced him to retire while he was expecting to ride a couple more seasons, but accepted the new path in his route, helping more cyclist to achieve their ''american dream.''
