After some impressive performances in the U19 Worlds and the Nigerian and Pan-African U23, Dutch Div.1 outfit The Broad Backs signed him swiftly, and even offered him chances to ride for himself, after a season proving his worth as a helper and in U23 races.
At a very young age he showed his worth winning immortal classic Vejle - København, in what would possibly be the highlight of his career. Later he also won some important Div.1 and Div.2 races, and did notable placings in prestigious sprinting classic Norwich - London, to complete a very respectable palmares once his best years were already extinguishing. Nonetheless, aged 30, his career took an erratic turn when he was traded to a lower division team, and while he still managed to keep a noteworthy score sheet, his motivation was over, as he wanted to return to the big stages. Fortunately, the Belgian outfit tomba brought him back to 1st Division, aged 32, where he could participate in the major Grand Tours, even if only as a helper.
Suddently after he turned 34, he was unexpectedly waived, and then aspiring team Navarone Cycling brought him off of free agency as soon as they got notice of it. He was offered the chance to ride all important tours and the cobbled classics, even if never being the designated man to win them, and he did a splendid job at that, being a member of the team that conquered 1x Vuelta Sprint Classification, 1x Germany Tour Sprint Classification, and 3x consecutive Tweedagse van Antwerpen General Classification.
While he aspired to help win a 4th Tweedagse van Antwerpen General Classification, team management already reinforced the cobbling team with younger riders and, thinking it is better to go on your own terms than waiting to be asked to leave, Muisi decided to retire just before turning 39, and after providing one last lead out for Sherard Rolf, the man that owes him so much. It is planned a retirement party for D83 S55 after Championnat des Ardennes, where all the captains he helped win are expected to give a speech honoring his professionalism and attitude on the peloton. Also some old rivals but now friends from his generation are expected to drop by and hang out.
What does the future have in mind for Muisi? The first step is to return to Nigeria to reconnect with the land he loves so much, and that due to the demanding life of the professional athlete he cound only visit every now and then when the team was in 2nd Division. Afterwards, all chances are available to him. Navarone Cycling Team have already offered him a non-expiring offer to become a trainer with the team, but it is the word that before that he would like to stay in Africa for a few years helping develop cycling in the region. Contacts with notable African outfits are rumored to have started, and is no secret that his experience in the team was the factor that brought to Navarone Cycling Team notable talents as Fabrice Ezekwesili and Olujimi Yangimosi. Who knows, maybe one day ends up scouting a youngster that ends up having a career as brilliant as his ... though that is a lot to ask to anyone.
