The race takes its name from the vibrant and fragrant hybrid orchids, which are one of Singapore's national symbols. Cyclists will get to experience the beauty and elegance of these flowers as they race through the streets, passing by ornate orchid gardens and nurseries along the way. The race is designed for sprinter types, with rolling terrain and technical sections to challenge even the best of riders. Along the route, cyclists will get a unique view of some of Singapore’s most iconic landmarks and attractions, such as Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and Merlion Park. There are also plenty of historical buildings to admire as well as local shops and eateries to try out along the way. The final 500 meters are a downhill straightaway leading to the finish line at Marina Bay, where riders will be able to take in the stunning views of Singapore’s skyline. Along the route cyclists will get glimpses of beautiful orchids growing along the roadsides as well as see some popular tourist attractions.
