It start just under the Arctic circle and should travel north towards the town of Vorkuta, the eastern most town in Europe. The first time this race was raced it was meant as a climbing race going north and passing the Arctic circle but measurements fell short and the race took over 2 days to complete as the distance between the two towns is around double the amount and is over 400 kilometers.
From that moment the race was cut in half, and kept the name but, instead of going north the riders head east towards the Yugyd Va National Park where they are met with the outskirts of the Ural mountains. Here the riders ride through the mountains and taiga of a arctic forest rarely seen by outsiders other than the people living there.
The riders return to Pechora following the Pechora river and entering the town on the south side where groups of riders finish at the Sotsialisticheskaya road and the winner is presented his reward at the Pechora Industrial and Economic College.
