World Communism Team concluded Season 53 at Vestmannaeyjabær GP, with a modest 9th place for Addis Gebreselassie, which felt like an acceptable achievement as the intended captain for this race Kuumba Rusesabagina was still injured from his crash at Fast on Wheels on the closing stage. And was downgraded to a water carrier for the race while nursing his injury.
In Season 53 the team had set a target to achieve a minimum of 7 results including at least 2 wins.
This target was reached, and then exceeded as the team achieved a total of 9 results, including 3 wins during the season.
Listed as below:
2nd in Conakry - Coyah (U23) for Kuumba Rusesabagina
3rd in Mirara – Asmara for Yoweri Ayesu
1st in Grand Cayman Challenge (U23) for Kuumba Rusesabagina
1st in Friedrichshafen - Ravensburg for Addis Gebreselassie
2nd in Stellenbosch – Bloubergstrand for Kuumba Rusesabagina
2nd in Rundt om Vejle for Addis Gebreselassie
1st in Pattani - Narathiwat (U23) for Kuumba Rusesabagina
2nd in Kyongsong - Sonbong (U23) for Kuumba Rusesabagina
3rd in Fast on Wheels Stage 4, Århus - Vejle for Addis Gebreselassie
World Communism Team will be approaching Season 54 with intent to peak once at Cesko-Slovensky Pohar, and then once again later in the season at Fast on Wheels.
For season 54 the team will not be setting a quantitative objective with a targeted number of wins and results, but will try to build the season in a way to go after honours as these two important events of the calendar.
In terms of rider development, the team will continue to look at training André Tié Bi as an all-rounder captain, or as a hill sprinter, or as a backup Lead out 2 in case of a low AV max.
And then into training Parfait Yar'Adua into a hill climber to add quality to this area of the squad.

Will be looking forward to racing you then if all goes according to plan.
The idea is to arrive there with an improved squad, in better shape, and with a proper wind breaker in the lineup. And see where we get.
Hope to see back at the FoW as I think I will target this tour again this season. I haven't looked at the calendar yet so I am not sure where my team will be placement wise around that time.
I would like to go after another jersey and I like going head to head with your team as we are built differently but similar towards hill sprints. I still don't have my hill sprinter trained though!!
