This last stretch of season 52 for World Communism Team started in Interlaken Grand Prix, but this race in the Alps was only approached as a practice race for Yoweri Ayesu and some other members of the squad to build up their race shape, and as a chance for usual teammates to join the breakaway and try for a result of their own.
The same went with Dungun Sprint with largely the same squad for largely the same purpose.
While none of these races produced a surprise breakaway result, these races filled their purpose and did a lot to get riders in better shape and pump the team spirit.
Following that, the team made its way to Iceland to race on the volcanic slopes of the Hólmavík Grand Prix, this time competitively, with ambition to score points and possibly to hit a still elusive Division 6 podium. The hope of World Communism Team were reduced very early on, as it became obvious that captain Addis Gebreselassie was having an off day, and would struggle to contest for a result.
Amazingly, even with an off day, thanks to tremendous work from his teammates, several of them untrained, and particularly thanks to a Farouk Dingi in Top Form, Addis Gebreselassie was able to hold on to 9th place. And get some OCM points and a bit of prize money for the team’s budget. OCM points which were much needed as the team was only holding on to a spot in Division 6 by a small margin at the time.
To close the curtain on season 52, World Communism Team was entered into Wangdu GrandPrix with Yoweri Ayesu as the main man, shooting for a result. However this ended disastrously, as four out of the six riders in the line-up had off days including the captain, who could not manage to get even remotely close to the top 9.
Overall this season was a little bit below expectation. The objective was to take at least a Division 7 win and/or a Division 6 podium. This was actually achieved with a Division 7 win late in the season, so the targeted minimum was reached.
But besides this, with only 10 top nine finishes including 4 results, of which only 1 was a win, the team feels that the season was a little bit underwhelming despite the few highlights.
Objectives for season 53 are being decided currently and will be communicated very shortly.

Thanks guys. Of course we are making plans to have it better next season. We are still sticking to the long term development strategy and things are on the up.
Don't give up.
Not a bad finish to the season for your team with the win and the podium but I am also sure you will be stronger next season.
