The very cold Perm Tour surely seems to be the weapon of choice for "Odd" Oddvar, the versatile super climber of Team Formand United.
He now sits at the throne as no. 1 in the classement after Stage 2 with ten seconds down to number two. His last season wasn't super, but that doesn't matter after the epic ride today at the King stage from Ochjor - Perm.
One after another, the riders tried to break away from the main group on the many climbs, though no one could succeed.
Team Formand United and Jonathan Rodenthal made sure no one could attack by setting a high tempo in the lead. Duardo Platas lost Jonathan Rodenthal's wheel when the sprint was launched, and Oddvar Helgesen had a close sprint with Jonathan Rodenthal. Oddvar "Odd" Helgesen was the fastest in the sprint!
- I really enjoyed the climbs today and really liked my team's job. The cold mountain terrain reminded me of good old Norway, Oddvar said getting a little horny and almost showing morning glory from his underpants..
- But I will continue my work in this Tour. Tomorrow is a time trail, not really my cup of tea, but let's seen what the Epo Müsli will do after some late breakfast tomorrow!
