After an almost catastrophic season, Team Formand United is top fit and back in Division 2 after a very short spell in the lower division.
Five Top 9 results proved more than enough to save more time in the second best professional division for Ebbe Spas' boys. The Moon Sportspaper's journalist Larry Gineker interviews Mr. Spas here :
- Especially our underestimated, talented Tour rider Urbanec and older downhill pro De Smedt has delivered. And my sense for optimising the squad perhaps too, Ebbe Spas comments.
- Several riders claim that you have fired them without warning this season, Ebbe. Ethnic cleansing, isn't that?? Larry Gineker asks.
- Well, our Talent Bent Dalen was among the fired riders. He maxed too early and partied too much. I always try to keep rules and contracts, but Bent was too much of a goof ball. It is true that other riders were fired, but I also brought new ones, also Igor that I fired earlier. We've had too many injuries this season, so I had to let him go semi pro and prep with DYNepo müsli bars before hiring him again.....
