The high, cold airs of the Bulgarian steep mountains at the Rila Lake was the perfect terrain for Lauro "Falcon". Mr. Falco was as often before one of the clear bookmaker favorites, but did not disappoint his fans in the crowd.
- I really felt like a bird up there. Only Maxwell Clackmannan could crush me today. He was really younger and stronger. Not really a climber type, but surely filled with EPO and A vitamin for the flight, Lauro Falco joked after the race.
- Well, I was a little reliefed with the silver today, because the season so far has been a little disappointing compared to last year. But I am only 30 and still alive.
- We had some tired help riders out there today in the mid season.. Well, good race, but with a little better helpers and no defects it would have been gold, Team Manager Ebbe Spas said to the press with a giggle.
