There have been some changes to the roster at Lindfield Locknuts lately, and manager SitsWithRemote was keen to tell this correspondent all about them.
“We’ve bought three riders in the past week, two youngsters and a veteran. The youngsters are 22-year-old Dane Frederik Stephansen, who has potential to be an excellent climber, and from Vaduz, a potential climbing captain for the future in Chris Hagenhofer (20) of Liechtenstein.
“We also did what the experts tell you to, and brought a veteran in: 32-year-old Mongolian Tserenputsag Ariuntungalag from Cordoba500. Tserenputsag brings a lot of added beef for climbing and downhill work which really strengthens the group. Unfortunately we had to release young Australian Kurt Manou, who just didn’t work out the way we’d hoped.
“Finally, we have a couple of exciting young riders already undergoing training: Martim Vidigal from Guinea-Bissau who is showing downhill aptitude, and Pole Daniel Niedziela who is already working for the team in top line races, especially where hills are a feature, but still has more to offer. I am pretty happy with my squad, but I am not yet ready to let my poor old starting captain Clayton Gaby retire just yet!”
