It’s a bit lazy to just copy the race report, but Unwin was one of our original Manx riders who has served the team well. He deserves a win. A breakaway of course!
With lovely weather in Norway, all the riders were ready to do their best in Bergen - Os - and som certainly did. Yvan Naets from De Bitterballetjes went away from the peloton after only 9 km.
The peloton kept the tempo high, and Yvan Naets slowly lost his lead. When the peloton reached him, after 9 2 km, Unwin Treadwell (Lindfield Locknuts) and Ruslan Hazurov (Cherno More) launched a counter attack. Yvan Naets's first attempt didn't stop him from joining the break away, which afterwards slowly increased the lead.
When 10 km of the stage were left, the three riders in the break away were quite sure to go all the way to the finishing line alone. Their thoughts later became doubts, as the peloton got closer and closer. On the final kilometre, the 3 riders could see the peloton behind them, as they gave everything they could.
Ruslan Hazurov launched an attack, which Yvan Naets easily countered despite his hard work on the stage. For Unwin Treadwell it was a littler harder to follow, but later he simply proved to be faking. Ruslan Hazurov couldn't follow the new tempo set by Unwin Treadwell, and neither could Yvan Naets. Unwin Treadwell safely sprinted to victory and raised his arms while crossing the finishing line. Behind him, about the length of two bikes away, Yvan Naets was slightly faster than Ruslan Hazurov, who seemed to have no more power left after trying to attack earlier.
Lindfield Locknuts's Unwin Treadwell was happy for the win. “Today was me and my team's day. This win is not only important for me, but also for the team!“ said Unwin Treadwell.
“It's good to see Unwin Treadwell fulfilling his ambitions winning this stage. He deserves the victory more than anyone else” said the proud manager of Lindfield Locknuts, Sits With Remote, and continued: “The team was a good support for Unwin, and he clearly proved his worth in the break away today.”

He did! I’m glad he got at least one win out of Hagen’s shadow.
He trod on those pedals so well.
Didwin? Onewin?
Will he have to change his name?
