At last the abbyss of emtpyness is filled with the who did what, where and when. A roundup of all the major races that everybody wants to win but only a few succeed in. The great scenery in Sicila was again a good trip to set my mind into the right direction and with some great cycling too.

   Giro di Sicilia

A great Sicilia welcomed many teams from division four for a great four stage race on a great island with friendly people. Starting in Catania, the riders had to battle against the clock in a four kilometer prologue to secure a great advantage point for the coming stages. TeamBSG was victorious with Cirilo Gamez, the youngster clocked a stellar time and many other teammanagers were surprised that they lost so much time in such a short stage. Ride faster next time people, is the advice. Stage two was a flat stage from Catania to Siracusa and it resulted in a sprint finish. Erich Quiring, Team Monster racing, was the one that passed the line first. Another sprintstage ended in Messina before the big finale. Nam-jae Heo won stage three and collected important bonification seconds. With a great performance on stage four it was Nam-jae Heo that took victory on stage four aswel as the leaders jersey from Cirilo Gamez. Cirilo Gamez, TeamBSG won the Youth Classification.

   Helsinki GP

Top division headed to Finland for the sprint classic in the streets of Helsinki. A great flat circuit through the capital of Finland and its surroundings. The peloton was flying towards the finish and challenged the fastest time for this race. A big peloton arrived

and all the major sprinters moved forward for their final jump. It was no suprise that the biggest teams powered their way in front and in the end it was the biggest of them all to finish first. Victory number eleven for Avataria, beating Yuri SuperTeam and Gradient Levelers.

  1. Nisavong Tapsouvanh, Avataria
  2. Frantz Katzenschlager, Yuri SuperTeam
  3. Santiago Campelo, Gradient Levellers

   Entrecasteaux GP

Edition number fiftyeight already for Entrecasteaux GP in division nine. The big race through the mountains of Southern France around the medieval town of Entrecasteaux is always a great race to scout for unknown but promissing riders. This season we have again a big number of new teams at the start and it was a spectacle to witness. A big group of riders made it towards the finish and it was Djowie Huisman who made the final jump, followed by Toli Azaria. Toli Azaria could only manage to hold on the wheel of Djowie and it was a, somewhat, easy win for the Dutchman. Didier Delarue managed to finish third.

  2. Toli Azaria, EJB Cycling
  3. Didier Delarue, AJ CYCLING

   Classic Oslo

Classic Oslo, the Norwegian climbing classic with a lot of downhill always has a surprise up its sleeve. This season it was in the form of the winner Youri Halevi. His first victory and result in his young career and it is immediately a big win. Challenging the mountains with his youthfull enthousiasm he was able to stay ahead of his chasers and gave millskids army a great and special victory for this homegrown rider. Edi Bacilieri, Herens Cycling and Culai Plesan, KRV Rapid Habsburg should have done better.

VCK Classic

VCK Classic in Velje started again with the best allround riders in division four. The great Danish race in front of the OCM headquarters attracted many spectators again and the riders awaited many hills and some nasty climbs in the otherwise flat country of Denmark. The winged trophy was available for that rider that was the strongest in the end and it was Niels-Jan Grommers that came to collect the trophy. With a strong performance and a big solo it was Optimus Prime that delivered the winner for this edition. A happy rider and manager were standing on the podium. Eddie Madsen, ABK and Lucas Jahnke, Burren Connemara completed the top three.

   Helsinki GP Mini

After the Helsinki GP it is time for the Helsinki GP Mini. A straight out flat race through the streets of Helsinki and this time it was division two who delivered its best sprinters. With hardly any wind and great weather it was a complete peloton that stormed under the red banner towards the finish. The sprinters were launched and it was Lambert Van Der Gijp, 1 2 Cycle who created a gap and never lost the lead. With a bike length ahead of Hafstein Sveinlaugursson, Team EksilFG and Julian Lundberg, Team Wonderdee, it was the Dutchman who was victorious giving the Dutch team and himself a third victory in this race.
