Progress is impossible without change but does change always equals progress? That is the question people must answer when they demand things to be different. Yes, it is important to maintain the span of attention of todays population. It is the attention that keeps people focussed and committed to a goal of a group or movement. In this case that is the OCM community or at least the game itself.

The lack of commitment these days does not lay with the community itself. Many enthousiasts are gathering around to witness the change of the clock and await a little red balloon that would make or break their day. Also new teams find their way towards this game and begin to develop a micro enviroment with their team. Yes, many of the upstarts abandon their team faster than they master it but still, people still enter the game and some hang on to it, pleased by its basic setup and easy going community.

Lately the fuzz is about the lack of commitment with the development of the game. It has been like this since a long time. A small token of appriciation has been given in the form of a discount for training, which served me well, but as it is a limited offer, and only once a year, when you miss out you have nothing. There are small hickups in the

game that are still on the shelf to be patched up but, they are gathering the dust of time and soon to be forgotten. And there are numerous suggestions from the community to improve the game via new features and different setups. Are these too difficult to implement or is there a bigger force that stands between suggestion and creation. The only one that could answer these questions shines by his absence.

Let us just pretend that nothing will change in the coming future and it will be as it is. There is no progress and we are stuck in a game that remains the same. The game is self-supporting and will attract new players once in a while and keeps the older players occupied. Slowly it will decline and in the end most of the people will turn their backs on the game and continue to venture further. With a fading image of an interesting period still in their memory in search of new ways to satisfy the need to be pleased. The game will stay online and only once in a while people will log on to see what happened of their team and if the game changed since they left. Noticing it did not, they will move away and their return will stretch over a longer period then before.

Does changing the game prevend that. In the end it is as above, changing does not keep players to abandon their team. People come and go and in the end the development of the game will be at a maximum of what is possible. And is it enough then? Ofcourse it

is not enough, it is never enough. The change will help to keep the game interesting for the players that are playing now and do not encourage new players to play the game. We have seen many suggestions on the forum but, are they good. Are they that good that they will change the attitude towards this game and let old players return in awe and become enthousiasts again and start all over, with their old team or a new. The suggestions I have seen are not that good. They are nice and some are even decent but it is more of the same and nothing breathtaking inspirational to start working on them. And maybe that is the problem, we demand many things from the person that gave us this nice piece of 'forget your reality' but all we probably do is give him a headache with our demands that are not even that good. Our search for progress and our suggestions are probably the cause of the opposite effect. Lack of change and therefor no progress.

Yes, you are correct. There is nothing new in the game since ages. And yes, there are a lot of things that can be done differently. But this game, as it is now, is still decent enough to keep my attention. And all the small suggestions are nice if implemented but not needed. What is needed is a dedicated developer that sees the suggestions and makes a decision on implementing them or not. And I hope we still have a dedicated developer, that will make changes if the game needs them or if the change guarantees progress.

Well spoken. But still, the changes are not urgent. At the end everything dies. It is an unevitable process in life. But upgrading the game will keep it alive for longer. Not for today, nor tomorrow, but in a larger period of time, the game will need an upgrade.
