The Breakaway with Fujimoto Masaaki
by Finz, at 8/9-15 - 22:22 GMT

  Yes, I am back. Fujimoto Masaaki, here for this season's the Breakaway. It has been nineteen seasons and that is more than enough for me to do nothing. And thus the Breakaway hired me to do a weekly round up of everything and whatever on the OCM calender.

  As starters we are present in Flekkefjord, Norway where the world championships are held for the fourth time in a row. Not all in Flekkefjord but, this one is. Being in the most western town of Sorlandet and by the sea one can not deny the distinct smell of fish. Everything smells of fish, the air, the houses and even the women. And as a Japenese citizen I am very interested in the local fish cuisine. Lutefisk, is what I heard. And after asking what lutefisk is, everybody answered, in one voice, lutefisk! Thus, lutefisk is lutefisk. A strong delicacy from Norway and while watching the builders build the podium for tomorrow's timetrial race and the road race the day after, I enjoyed myself with some good lutefisk.

And with that we have a good glas of wine of the Norwegian vineyard Lerkekasa. A nice white wine of the Solaris grape, not perfect, but Norwegian and with the lutefisk it was all just fine.

  In the night I dreamed of the World Championships and saw myself amongst the riders in the pack as it was in my own active time. Battling against weather, opposition and burning legs. Wiping the rain from my face and gasping for that last amount of air to penetrate my burning lungs. Around the last corner and pushing forward towards the finish where I was awaited by origami swans??? And riding towards them I became lighter in my head and body and I started to fly towards the birds in the sky that opened up and swallowed me into its clowded mouth. Becoming very terrified and in distress, all I could think of was that I had to get out and out it went. The complete floor was covered with lutefisk and stale wine mixed with body fluids from within making the complete room smell of fish.

  No more lutefisk and Lerkekasa wine for this fellow and I will hope

that the next World Championships will be held in another country with better food and wine. I had to stay in bed for two complete days before I was able to stay on my feet and I could barely manage to get my plane home. I was hoping for a better return but maybe it will be better next week. Here are the results of the World Championships;

  World Championships Time Trial
   Ludvig Passer, Stil Ostil
   Dantel Diez, Nairobi City Cycling Club
   Valentim Dâmaso, sprint4live

  World Championships Road Race
   Patryk Drozdowski, Team Stredet
   Isadoro De la Vega, Legia
   Kennet Bendixen, rooney17

  great Breakaway is back, but can anybody tell me how is this possible that Fujimoto raced with the same team in div 9 and div 1 in one season (S14)???

Schiavi di Don at 15:15 13/9-2015
  I think this is one of the races that has been moved from Div1 to Div9 during a calender change
