Although announced as a regular trade, the move from Travis McPherson (USA) back home was all but normal. Recent leaks show that Irani cycle scouts kidnapped McPherson to develop him into a star at Team Oasis. American officials on their turn managed to arrest Farzin Niroomad (Iran) for possibly violating equipment rules. Both nations agreed upon a swap to settle the matter. The center of the stage was Norway a couple of weeks ago.

A dialog from a USA Cycling director to the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) shows that I was ‘of great national interest’ to get Travis McPherson back to the United States. The USOC informed USA Cycling earlier that Iran lured the rider out of the country with 66k. As soon as his plane landed he disappeared off the radar. They

picked up an internal message from a high ranked Irani official saying that Iran training McPherson was just to make fun of the ‘Muricans’, in particular when he could fulfill his potential. After hearing that the director stated that ‘all means are allowed’ to do the right thing followed by a comment that he did not wish to be involved in the further process. “You know what to do, make America proud”, were his closing words.

Accidentally a great, so far unknown, Irani talent showed up in Norway in the form of Farzin Niroomad. He was there to see Zartosht Yaghoubi in the World Championship and stayed longer to see the Haugesund Rundtur as well. The USOC contacted Bing Team to get more details about the youngsters. Meanwhile a strategy was developed to arrest Farzin on Juno equipment use charges, with a forged frame. A dialog

proves that Norwegian police gave green light for the operation which was named Operation Green Gem.

Irani officials were shocked when they found out Niroomad was kept in custody. After a few days radio silence Iran sends out a message that they wish to exchange McPherson for Niroomad only if the US would pay compensation and leave Iran cycling alone for some time to come.

We have not yet found any information about the specific location, time and details of the exchange but a USOC’s field officer sends a small message to USA Cycling saying “No need to worry, the eagle wheels are at customs now. The customs fee is $80k, is that alright?” Soon after trackstah07 claims to have made a deal with Team Oasis about the move for 80k. A few days later Niroomad was spotted on Team Oasis in good health.
