Welcome to the preview for the twentieth editions of the World Championships, both road race and time trial.

  World Championship Road Race
   V02maXXers
This team has progressed rapidly through the rankings and has taken their chance to enter in this prestigious race. Their captain should be Augusto Campelo. This rider has already shown what potential he’s got for all round races and should be able to challenge the big boys here. He won’t have the best of support, but when has that ever stopped him!

Seen as that, via press release, we’ve learnt that this squad will be attempting a break away attempt, I won’t bother with the star system for them. Joost Paschiers will “captain” this team. He’s a two time classic winner, but he won’t have any support here. The five other riders will be looking to win by themselves.

   Il Grillo
Toli Quesado, who’s currently in top form, will captain this team. In his second season racing, he got a fourth place in the world championships, but hasn’t got any results in it since. Nor has he got any results this season! That’s not very good from a rider of his quality. He’ll have a great team with him, mostly climbers and hillers. He’s got a good chance of getting his first result of the season here.

   PEKAC B
Another team that has recently shot up through the ranks brings Lu Yongshun to try and win this race. He doesn’t really score a lot of points and only has one result to his name, put I think that he might have a chance of a top nine here. He’ll have a few lead outs and a couple of team mates to help him, so he shouldn’t do too badly here.

   Team Oasis
Perm Tour expert, Jude Evans, will captain this team. He should be deadly in these types of races. A couple of seasons ago, he got sixth in the world championships, but I think he could do better than that. He might be nearing thirty three, but he’s still won twice this season and got third in division one as well. The average average for this team mates is 51.4, so that tells you all you need to know about his support!

A previous world champion is back, in the form of Garami Gedeon. He’s had an okish season by the standards of his team, so he’ll want to do well here. Last season, he was third in this race and the season before that he won. Going to England with him will be three team mates, one hiller and one lead out. According to this team’s reputation, their captain should do well here.

After winning Germany Tour for a third time in four seasons, Pétur Snælaugursson will want to win here. Though saying that, he’s only ever raced as captain in this race once and got fourth. So he hasn’t got a lot of experience to his name here. Four hillers and a climber will help their captain as best as they can and I think he could get into the top nine.

   Rotational Symmetry
Another team going for a break away success/team spirit boost/experience gain will be the only home team in the race. Manager Oliver B has brought a mix of his young climbers and hillers to the race and will if he gets lucky.

   peddelen
This team has chosen Mihaita Raducioiu as their first place captain, but I think that’s a rouse. He’s signed up with a lot better riders than this guy, but he is top form ready so that might be his plan. This rider does however have some noteworthy results though. He’s the winner of the division classics Critérium La Provence and Alpe d`Huez Classic. Maybe he can surprise us?
  Leader *
  Support *****

   US Postal 10
Englishman Donald Kaye looks like the guy to lead this team. He’s a high average hiller with four wins to his name this season, but they have all come in second division. He’s actually only raced twice in first division. Will his inexperience cost him? Five team mates will do their best to help him, so it looks like to me that he’ll have a good chance.
  Leader *****

   DCM
Another strong captain, in the form of Robert De Meulder, will participate in this race. He’s only got one result this season, so the team manager will want a top nine here. To support him in his goal will be a climber, two hillers, a sprinter and a wind breaker. Not as good as some other teams, but not bad either.

   mikai
Sprinting captain and classic winner Jan-Peter Werff has also joined the race. He’s had a superb season so far and currently sits in twelfth place in the OCM rankings. He’s another rider not to score points in top division, but he’s won the Grasse – Toulon classic and got fourth in the Mito – Tokyo classic, both of which are in second division, this season. He’ll have

lead outs for support.

Nicholas Ryle is back again to try and win this race. He won it in season twenty four, under four seasons ago. Has time taken its toll on him? I don’t think so. He hasn’t been captaining much, so there’s your answer for lack of results, but he’s the best option for an all-round race like this. Five team mates will try their best to help him during the race.
  Leader ****

   Beardy Bikers
French all-rounder Noa Vallée will captain this team. The twenty seven year old has had quite a bit of success in division two and three, but hasn’t really achieved a lot in division one. Is this his time to shine? All we know is that coming to England with him are two climbers, one all-rounder and two hillers. This rider will have a chance of a top nine.

   radu
Young Slovakian Matej Zošák will be captaining this team. He’s certainly made a name for himself this season, getting third for his country and winning twice for his team. His support isn’t the strongest that I’ve ever seen, but it’ll have to do.
  Leader ****

   Cykelmyggen
Ageing Kai Diggele is here and will try to get into the top nine, but that will be a hard task to accomplish. He’ll have lead outs helping him in the race, but I’m not sure he’ll have what it takes to get across the mountains and hills. He’s managed to get big results in the past few seasons, including a third place at Norwich-London and a fourth place at Vejle-København

   Glamourade
Another big threat is hiller Sevastian Torrens. He was transferred to this team less than a month ago from DCM. He recently got second place in division three classic Tour of Hawaii, which has a similar profile to this race. He won’t have the best nor the worst team around him, so he should do alright here.
  Leader *****
  Support ***

   WalrusPT
The only non-Portuguese rider in this squad’s line up is their captain and his name is Vergílio Nandigna. He’s done well in tours, but can he prove himself to be a good all-rounder as well? His team is certainly good enough to give him the support he needs to do well here, so depending on discipline and race shape, this captain should do well.
  Leader ****

   CGPBMARCH
High average rider Jamie Hagan has also entered the race and will captain this team. Twice seventh place finisher at the classic Critérium La Provence hasn’t had the best of seasons in terms of results, but hasn’t done too badly in terms of points. He hasn’t established himself as an all-rounder yet, but he’s certainly got the right skills to do so.
  Leader *****

   Luveaucek
And the last teams captain is Englishman Abner Dowden. After his recent success in Germany Tour, where he won the sprinting classification, he’ll want to do well on home soil. With a fifty five average, he’s got the potential to do well here. He’ll be supported by a climber, a time trial rider, a cobbler and two lead outs.

  World Championship Time Trial

   radu
This teams enters with rider Kurt Van Lier as their only trained rider. The other five are “jobbers”. He has no results and has three top nine finishes, two of them in time trials. All I can say is that if he gets a top nine here, it’ll be a good result.
  Time Trial Riders ***

   superduke
The full Dutch line up of this team has some impressive time trial riders. Peter Tuyp and Nick Wisgerhof stand out from the rest because of their previous results. The first in question has won this race before and got second last season and the second after recently being transferred from Yuri SuperTeam has had a good season.
  Time Trial Riders ***

   Stroopwafel
Two sprinting prologuers have entered this race to represent their team. Four “jobbers” are with them. Their names are Gerrit Grasmaaijer and Menno van Dalen. They haven’t got much chance in this strong field, but those to say what they can do.
  Time Trial Riders *

   Kremer
This Polish team has entered with four time trial riders, a hiller and a sprinter. The big two for them are Lech Wi?ckowski and Leonard Rybicki. The two of them show very good abilities, but they haven’t had any major results. Can that be changed here?
  Time Trial Riders ****

   Jonas Pro Cycling
Five time trail riders and a cobbler is the lineup this team chose. Thanassis Dadakos and Eli Rictor are the two that pose the biggest threat for me. The first has four results in this race! He’s got the experience to do well. The second has a lot of results in tour time trials and normal

races.
  Time Trial Riders ****

   sprint4live
The first full time trial team is here and it’s a good one. The only setback for them has been their Danish time trial rider, who got injured and won’t be back in time for the race. Benito Falconio and Onno Mund should be the ones to watch. The first has a bit of experience in this race with two top nine finishes and the second’s abilities suit the race profile a lot.
  Time Trial Riders *****

   ABK
Alan Klostergård will be the main man going for glory for this team. They have also entered Sebastian Dideriksen to try and get a result as well. The first has never got a result in this race, but he’s done great in tours! The second was a surprise top nine finisher in Nederlandse Tour this season. Who knows what they might do…
  Time Trial Riders ***

   Hommerts Cycling Team
This team has risen through the rankings this season and has entered this prestigious race with three time trial riders. The deadliest of them is Yrjänä Sistonen. He’s still yet to prove himself in this race, but he’ll have a good chance as the race profile suits him. Belgic rider Teun Swin will also have a good chance in the race.
  Time Trial Riders *****

   Yuri SuperTeam
Three time trial rider, one lead out and two “jobbers” will represent this team. David Ballesteros and newly trained and brought Mohamed Ali Jaghmoum are the best riders in this team. Neither has World Championship experience, but the first have got results in tours and the second has no results so we’ll have to wait and see what they can do.
  Time Trial Riders ******

   Drapeau Noir
Delion has bought Melvyn Jégou to try and win this race. He hasn’t had the best of seasons or the worst of seasons either. He has the right kind of abilities to do well in the time trial. It won’t be too windy come race day, but his high flat road stat will really help him out.
  Time Trial Riders ******

   YCO
This team has entered a time trial with no time trial riders. Oh well, race shape gain for them then…

   Team Majones
Five top time trial riders have entered for this team and they will want to get a top nine at the least. Amadeu Filipe and Rene Schimmel are the youngest two in the team and have a good chance at achieving a good finish in the race.
  Time Trial Riders ***

   Matrix team
Previous seasons winners are back and Theodore Castle will want to defend his victory from last season. Another time trial rider on their team to look out for is Nathaniel Yde who might have a chance at the top nine having already got into the top nine in another season. Castle will try to get his third win in this race which would tie him with Oskar Dam from seasons ago.
  Time Trial Riders ****

   NECFTW
Noppes has recently invested a lot of money in a time trial squad and it’s a good one at that. The most dangerous riders for me are Yoeri De Loose and Eric Isnard. De Loose has got second in this race a couple of seasons back, but not a lot of results since. Isnard won his first result in Germany Tour this season, but they might be able to add another here.
  Time Trial Riders *****

   jmtoler
The continuing changing squad of Jon Toler is making profit and now they will race at the World Championships before they are shipped of again to a different team. I would say that Marius Hågensen has the best chance of getting a good result here. He’s another rider who should have more results than he currently does, but he might get one here.
  Time Trial Riders ***

   Nairobi City Cycling Club
Six time trial riders, all other the 50 average mark, have come to England to win. Out of all of them, the best two for me are Moises Becerril and Lippai Attila. But all of them really have a good chance at getting a top nine. But ever since they won the race with Isac Tingmann, six seasons ago, they’ve only got two top nines since, so they will want to break that trend and fast!
  Time Trial Riders *******

   Avataria
Torgeir Kleppe will represent this team and he’s got talent this young Norwegian. He might be the only time trial rider in his team, but he’s been given the chance to ride at the World Championships by his manager and I think he’s another rider with a chance of a top nine. He’s only been recently trained, so he doesn’t have any big results, but he’s won twice for his team this season, so he hasn’t done badly at all.
  Time Trial Riders ******

*Both rankings don’t take into in account age, top form, and discipline or race shape.
**Time Trial riders are taken in account if their time trial skill is 60 or above (unless the team has only a couple of riders in the case or radu).
***Time Trial Riders is the average of each time trial rider in the team (so team with only time trial rider will be highly rated, but are riskier if the rider has an off day).

Thanks for reading and good luck to all the team in the races!

Great preview! Finally your love of stars and OCM is combined in a match made in heaven.

Matrix team at 10:58 13/6-2014
Only 4 stars for wc itt with 6 tters? (5 if you do not count therkildsen)

English Sprinting Team at 11:07 13/6-2014
Like a explained, with the stars at the end, it's the average of all you tt'ers. If a team has one great tt'er, then they'llhave better star rating.

Stroopwafel at 11:40 13/6-2014
Awesome preview again Michael! And thanks for the generous one star :).

Matrix team at 11:58 13/6-2014
But my TT average is about 90. Seems i do not understand what you're saying, but no offense, i'll have my revenge this afternoon ;)

English Sprinting Team at 11:59 13/6-2014
No problem. I'll explain via pm :-)

  Good preview again, Michael.

NECFTW at 17:42 13/6-2014
You should have given me 0 stars in TT. They suck.

ASADO Team at 00:05 14/6-2014
  Excelent!

Onie at 01:30 14/6-2014
Brasil won their first match, so did the Netherlands. I think Brasil wil win the WC.

  Onie, seriously!

Maybe we should introduce a "liking system" for previews and threads with stars ;)

Matrix team at 10:55 14/6-2014
Only 4 stars but who cares with 3rd and 5th ;)

English Sprinting Team at 12:29 14/6-2014
