Who will win Giro di Sicilia, that is the big question. It is the first edition and Henrik Aronsen is holding the aces for Team Seidel. Can the rest keep up or is this race in the bag for Henrik Aronsen.
We will know tomorrow when the last stage has finished and the winners are announced.

Speaking about tours. The "Grand Old Lady" of tours is about to begin. Who will be the winner of the Germany Tour. Will it be a sprinter, a climber or a time trial specialist. You can always place a bet about it but, my bet is it will be a climber this year. And he is in topform. A preview will come monday, probably.

  World Tour

   Bruxelles – Liège

Division A had a meeting in the Ardennes for their race through the hills around Liege after a long overture starting in Bruxelles. The hills started in the end of the race when the riders were tired of their long race already, towards the final stage. The hills of the Ardennes around Liege followed eachother very quickly resulting in a swift departure of the majority of the peloton. Only a handful of captain were left when the final climb in Angleur was reached. On the foot of the climb it was Giovanni Faulk who tried to break free. Olaf van Damme and Byron McVinning jumped with him and let him do the work before passing him halfway. In a sprint a due it was Olaf van Damme who was the better of Byron McVinning and he took the victory before the Scotsman. Giovanni Faulk was just able to hold onto third.

  2. Byron McVining, The Hippies

   Radomsko – Kruszyna

In Poland many nations were ready to compete against eachother and the hills that awaited them. With dry weather but a very strong cold wind blowing it was going to be a tough race and only the riders that could manage this kind of weather would be in front in the end. It was no surprise that Bohuslav Racko beat Gerard Cygan on the finishline as he was the better sprinter of the two and after an escape of over fifty kilometers it was obvious he was the stronger one. The surprise came in the form of Malayan Azmizan Yusoff who took third in this cold weather, he could take more then the heath back home. Cold did not bother him also.

  2.

Gerard Cygan, Red Brigade CT
  3. Azmizan Yusoff, Rantanplan

   Auckland – Hamilton

With the Northern Island of New Zealand having a great summer, the riders in Division C prepared themselves for an interesting race to Hamilton. The hills provided enough difficulties to make this race a special one. Groups of riders had to fall back after helping their captains stay up front. In the final kilometers around Hamilton it was a race between a few captains. There were sprinters and climbers among the group but the strongest rider was Swiss Patrick Wyss. He already had some nice victories and it was no suprise that he beat Osvaldo Santiseban in a sprint, although Osvaldo was the better sprinter. Yonnas Lelisa was third on a decent distance.

  Classics

  Helsinki GP

After twenty seven editions, Helsinki still enjoys the Helsinki GP classic. With a race around the greater Helsinki area to weaking the sprinters they still return into Helsinki ready for a bunch sprint on the wide boulevards. After a small criterium the crowd is ready to cheer the riders to extreme speeds when they race towards the finishline to receive their boat trophy. With the sprinting train of Luveaucek on the rigt side gearing up it was Ronaldinho Viana who took the left side of the road with his team. A battle between trains started and in the end it was just the two of them left. Ronaldinho squeezed Damario almost into the barriers to secure a victory and Damario was not amused about that move. Fabio Sosa could take his second place leaving him with only third. Ronaldinho Viana was the happy winner on the podium receiving many kisses from the Finnish beauties.

  2. Fabio Sosa, Nairobi City Cycling Club
  3. Damario Barba, Luveaucek

  Classic Oslo

Oslo is blessed with many races but Classic Oslo is one of the favourites. A classic, therefor many big teams travel to Norway,

and it always gives a great spectacle for the crowds. With a few nice decents around the Oslo area it was again a race for the daredevils. And in the end it was Jacinto Aires who took the most risks. It was, without a doubt, very risky how he attacked on the last decent but it resulted in a great gap. That would allow him to cruise into victory when he entered Oslo to pass the finishline alone. All commentators said his actions were insane and should result in a crash or worse if anyone else would have done them. Jacinto however smiled, and waved to the crowd as he was honoured as winner. Marco Italiano beat Radovan Tuharsky for second on the finishline.

  1. Jacinto Aires, Tettobassa
  2. Marco Italiano, Cyclocomotiv
  3. Radovan Tuharsky, Pomada

  VCK Classic

With a hilly stage and a final climb in sight the twenty teams started the twentieth VCK Classic in the hope of winning the winged trophy. With rain pouring down it was a race for the tough riders in the peloton and many riders abandoned the race before it was over. With a small peloton the riders entered Velje and approached the final climb. The rain and cold wind was the biggest enemy this race, the final climb was just the finisher. One by one saw their light go out and only Friedhelm Kuhlmeny was able to keep the fire burning. It resulted in a heroic win. Filip Hamre was second and Hinrich Dannemann was third. They all looked like shit, it was a terrible race.

  1. Friedhelm Kuhlmey, Joss
  2. Filip Hamre, Avataria
  3. Hinrich Dannemann, depadvinders
