The Breakaway - Weekly update

Another week has gone by. Time flies when you are having fun. And it helps when it was only 5 days ago since the last weekly update. This week we all praise the two winners of the five jerseys in the last two tours. Some news about the expansion of division eight and the usual chitchat about who paid what for whose services. And someone won his first trophy, it is all here in your local OCM weekly update magazine called; The Breakaway.

  Germany Tour

After ten stages in Germany there was only one winner. The rest did not matter. Not in the General Classification, not in the Points Classification and not in the Youth Classification.
Melvin Jegou beat everybody and everything and did what no rider has done before. He won not one, not two but, all three jerseys in Germany Tour. And that resulted in a happy Delion, the manager of Drapeau Noir.

  Nederlansdse Tour

Rudolf Matejka from Luveaucek was considered a contender for the Youth Classification before the start of the Nederlandse Tour. But winning three stages in a row made him not only win the Youth Classification but, he also beat everybody and won the General Classification. This young rider is still twenty three years old and will probably dominate the coming seasons.

Design your own division eight race

Always wanted to have a race in a place you like, or close by your home? You can make a race and suggest it as a future race in division eight. On the forum, under the topic suggestions, there is a thread that is named Suggest your div 8 race!. Here you can suggest your race. Give it a go and maybe add a race description. If it is good and you are within the rules, you will find it in the future calender. Just give it a go, we need a lot.

  Most points by a rider

Lean Ahnfeldt – Mollerup scored a total of 15.229 points in his career. This is the highest amount of points ever scored by a rider. He passed Jens Waesbergen who has 15.200 points and, Lean is still racing so can extent his lead.

  World

Tour

  Division A

   Rotterdam - Amsterdam

The Dutch division A classic was all about the wind, this time the wind was coming from the side and many riders had problems with them. The famous "waaiers" were formed and many riders were blown away by it. In the end the peloton fell apart in multiple groups. The first group arriving in Amsterdam was formed by around twenty riders. Being in topform Ferdinand Gott outsprinterd his rivals, beating Eddi Autzen and Conrad De Graef, for first.

  1. Ferdinand Gott, Dr Fuentes Rasselbande
  2. Eddi Autzen, Eixample ATH
  3. Conrad De Graef, Borstelharen

  Division B

   Ningde - Luoyuan

When the riders arrived in Ningde the knew the race would be difficult. The Chinese roads are not perfect like in Europe but the crowds are enthusiastic. Luoyan was again the finishline and the race would result in a bunch sprint. The best division B sprinters started and it was Iver Vanhoosan who was the strongest for Wales. He beat Detari Catalin and Victor Pardo with a small margin but it was enough to secure a victory.

  1. Iver Vanhoosan, Welsh Phoenix
  2. Détári Catalin, Silencio
  3. Victor Pardo, Onie

  Division C

   Budapest - Debrecen

Hungary hosted the World Tour race for the second time and it was again a great venue. There were some surprising new and good riders on the entrance form. The race was marked by an early breakaway and a peloton that chased that one until the end. It was however the peloton that won the chase and it resulted in a sprint in Debrecen. Fabio

Sosa took with him his great form and secured a victory for Venezuela. He beat Azmizan Yusoff and Yonnas Lelisa with a bike length.

  1. Fabio Sosa, Nairobi City Cycling Club
  2. Azmizan Yusoff, Rantanplan
  3. Yonnas Lelisa, POM Wonderful

  Classics

   Orel – Kursk

The Russian classic in division four was tortured by bad weather. The riders had to wear their winter jackets and rain coats and still many riders abandoned the race premature. As this was a almost flat race the spectators in Kursk could still see a few riders finish. The sprint was not a real sprint, it was more like some riders pedaled faster in the end. It was no surprise a Swiss rider could endure the cold the best. Tim Mean won ahead of Finn Taumoepeau with Russian favourite Nikolay Dyuzhenkov completing the podium

  1. Tim Méan, Kalakini CC
  2. Finn Taumoepeau, Leidseveen flyers
  3. Nikolay Dyuzhenkov, ridecoppi

  Another good one.

How do you find out a riders career points?

ABK at 15:25 11/12-2013
If the rider in question is in the top ten of his nation you can log out. Press check it out and then go to nation. The riders ranking there shows the point for his entire career.
