As the rest of the teams all enjoy a welcomed break from racing for two days and, indulge into end of season parties that match those held by Bacchus himself, the Top division teams are facing one of the biggest races in the season. The World Championships. Liberec is the city that is host to both the time trial and the road race.

  Time Trial
As the time trial race is held on day eighty-nine we will start with that one. Only eightteen teams dared to sign up for this race. Too bad this race can not be filled time after time but, those that did found the courage to sign up, signed up super riders. Pure specialists build for this race. With teams like superduke and Matrix team we had two pure time trial enthousiasts at the start. One of the first riders to set a great time was former champion Vejayaraguan Eswaren of Cykelmyggen. As this time was for a while the best it was eventually beaten by seven others. And those seven came from five teams, with superduke winner of winners with a first and second place, sandwiching Red Star. Peter Tuyp, the first Dutch Time Trial world champion beat Sven Ørsted, who finished second and teammate Kiefer Douglas

who was third.

  Road Race
The last race was the most important race. Through the city of Liberec there was a challenging circuit build for all the riders that wanted to win this race. A circuit with two hundred seventy two kilometers of pavement. Many spectators along the course stimulated the riders and gave the race a great atmosphere as their cheers gave some extra boost to those who battled on the road. Some attempts to break away from the bunch and surprise the favourites were futile and did not last long. It all came down to the last lap when most riders were out of energy and had to drop down one by one leaving only the best up front.
Remembering last season all eyes where on Nicholas Ryle of Matrix team. All the riders in the group were past winners of some great races. But the World Championships are not the World Championships if all logic was put aside. The Benjamin of the leading group took his chance and jumped. Taking a few meters at first but, with no reaction from the others gained ground fast. Drazen Cetnik, Red Star, is his name. Just barely out of training and only twenty two years young. He beat all the others giving Nicholas Ryle and Gilian Van Bockorst, Comfius, the other two podium spots.

10th in the WC ITT, 11th (mechanical issue) in the WC RR: The World Championships are the only bad things that happened to me (other than injuries) in an otherwise fantastic season!
  I'll get my revenge!
