Have you seen your palmares?
by Finz, at 21/2-13 - 02:30 GMT

Everyone loves a Classic. Everyone loves to win a Classic. Once the winning is done, everyone loves to be able to brag about winning a Classic. That, my friends, is why we have Trophies!
Until recently, there were not many trophies available for your shelves, and those that did exist were only available to those racing at the highest level of OCM. In the last couple of seasons, this has begun to change thanks to the persistence of some and the willingness of Team Zyte to implement new additions to the OCM bragging shelves.
First, let's have a look at the trophies that have been around since earlier days.

Division 1: Zürich-Bern-Zürich, crafted by Team Zyte

Division 1: Roubaix Classic, crafted by Team Zyte

Division 1: Astana GP, crafted by Team Zyte

In recent times, a few teams have had success getting trophies approved by Team Zyte and some other teams have made efforts. It's not a simple process, as the trophy must suit the overall design of OCM and have "a certain feel." This process can be difficult, sometimes involving many revisions to a design. It almost always takes a long period of time, as Nick is busy with many things, as are the people trying to make the trophies.

The designs are as varied as the terrain of the races to earn them. So here's a quick thanks to the Trophy Makers of OCM!

  Onie

has provided us with this fine trophy:

  Division 2: Minsk CBGP

EricV has provided us with a pair of nicely crafted items:

  Division 4: Orel-Kursk Classic

Division 5: Juberri - Pas de la Casa

ScotterPop has created some real masterworks (I may be biased):

  Division 1,2,3: Vejle-København

  Division 1: Helsinki GP

  Division 1: Alpe d'Huez Classic

  Division 1: Critérium La Provence

  Division 2: Helsinki GP Mini

  Division 3: Tour of Hawaii

/>
  Division 7: Brebes - Brebes

We owe a special thanks to NightmareChaos for asking Nick if new trophies could be added and then taking initiative to encourage others and also create some of his own:

  Division 1: Norwich-London

  Division 2: Mito - Tokyo

  Division 2: Grasse - Toulon

  Division 2: Ainet - Bruggen

  Division 2: Lappi Sea GP

  Division 7: Giro di Vicenza

If the increased points and prize money were not enough to encourage you to sign up for the classics on your calendar, perhaps the prospect of adding a nice trophy to your Palmares will entice you put these challenging races into your race plans.
There are about as many Classics without trophies as there are that do have them. If you are interested in contributing to the shelves of the winners, perhaps it's time you tried your hand at crafting a trophy as well? Feel free to send a PM to Scott or Finz, and we'll be happy to help you get started.

@Twente, drop down to Div8 and race in Vicenza! And BTW, you will never get a trophy with Amos as your captain, he just can't handle any kind of pressure =(
