Season 16 has passed and it’s time for the world to focus on the season awards. As usual a lot of work has been made to give everyone a moment of fun and retrospective. As usual the Committee has developed a Pre-Awards article. This time we decided to see the highlights of the season. Hope you like it and after it go vote!

Day 1 - During the team presentations from the Top Division in Sweden the rider who everyone noticed was missing was Sterling Dorsher (FFL). He finished his career in the end of the past season. We will never forget him! In the rest of the Divisions presentations no one special was gone.

Day 5 - Migel Pinto (Gradient Levellers) wins his first classic (Alpe d`Huez Classic) with Top Form. Darell Randel (CCFC) and Hamza Zaheer Roha (sprint4live) completed the podium after a close fight.

Day 7 - Pauli Michielsen, world champions, moved from skils to vlaflip a team currently in the 4rd Division. Why? Noone knows, but a salary rise is the most probable reason.

Day 9 - The first classic in the 2nd division is fell know by some famous top riders. Ainet - Bruggen gave us again an incredible winner. Vincent Ploeger (minions of static) won the classic for the 2nd time in a row!!! Filip Orzechowski (Team Unibet) and Ian Defley (Dodge) completed the podium.

Day 10 - Savino Galinatti (Team RI) surprised the peloton by winning the most important cobbler classic, Roubaix Classic, Curtis Defore (Scilian) gave the first podium of the season for Scilian and Damon Tatlock (Equipo Easy On) was the big card of EEO in the classics.

Day 13 - Sieuwerd Schimmel (Team RI) repeted his win in Tweedaagse van Antwerpen. No one can beat Team RI in the cobbles. Maas de Wolf (Monkeys United) was the best young rider.

Day 15 - Migel Pinto (Gradient Levellers) makes 2 out of 2 by winning the 3rd classic of the season the very important Zürich-Bern-Zürich. This time he was falllowed by the veteran Keegan Shiable (Team Kernow) and the young Frederik Ravn (EkerSvarvarna).

Day 17 - After the dominance from Kasper Czechowski (Bywater CT)last season in the Volta ao Porto, it was time for another polish rider to win the Tour. Filip Orzechowski (Team Unibet) had a brilliant and probably easy win in Portugal. Salim Wajeeh (Equipe 44) won the SC and Ferdl Adams (NECFTW) was the best youngster.

Day 20 - Former Top Division champion skils announces the end of the team. Probably some financial problems might have been the cause of it. Also the lack of results might have been too.

Day 20 - Just after hearing a big team had retired, we had the news that a big is back. snyltarane came back and will try now reach the top division again.

Day 20 - The cobble stage from the 2nd division was as usual very disputed. Oswald Vancleave (Team Washo) won after a very close fight with Munir Tareef (Siporex) and Geeraard de Zwaan (Los

Estados Unicos).

Day 20 - In his last season as a professional cyclist Jeremy de Neys (greenride) caused a huge upset by winning Monte Rosa tour. Smashing performance! Joachim Löwik (lastplace1414) was the best of the young riders competing. Busy day today...

Day 22 - Jens Waesbergen (The Killers) wins Norwich-London. Probably the best win in his unbelievable season. Cary Shutts (Torreira) got the most surprising 2nd place ever and Hanneken Engelborgh (Monkeys United) completed the podium.

Day 35 - Many teams see Mito - Tokyo as the big goal of a season. But probably no one expected Fidel Mora (Rode Stier) to grab the top spot. And the podium was completed by David Pires (Greenride) and the big gun Jan-Joost Dussel (peddelen).

Day 40 - Cymru Taith provided Hollywood drama. With a win in the final stage Abraham Cojuango (tundra) grabbed the tour win, leaving Marinus van Someren (then NECFTW) behind stunned. The 5th place by Jordy Wekenburgh (Connaught) was enough to win him the Youth Classification.

Day 41 - Heman Eagles (Bywater CT) had circled this date on his calender to be in his best of form. And oh boy, did he deliver! Not only did he win Perm Tour but he also managed to bring home the sprinting classification. Best young rider was Tonio Castulo (EEO).

Day 49 - Total domination. The way Otto Hagman (Team Crazy Downhillers) left all competition standing in the inaugural edition of Race of the Minuteman is best described this way. In his first serious race the youngster won both GC an YC in impeccable style. Goddard Scothern (Telstra) was best of the sprinters.

Day 50 - Salim Wajeeh (Equipe 44) won the English Tour in Essex. His best position in the stages was 7th but even so no one could beat him despite having Jens Waesbergen (The Killers) just 9 seconds behind. Tonio Castulo (Equipo Easy On) won his first YC of the season.

Day 51 - Leopold Istrate (Scilian) gave the team his 2nd podium in a classic of the season and most important a huge win. Heinrich Uttenberger (The Killers) and Sieuwerd Schimmel (Team RI), who was expected to win, completed the podium in the Antwerpen - Huy.

Day 53 - Laurits Junker, world ITT champion, got his best result of the season. A 10th place in Aalborg Timetrial was a good result for him.

Day 54 - Every puncheur must feel at home in Lappi Sea GP. Serafin Ballestero (Glamourade) must have felt he was in a dream while crossing the finish line in first position. Leon Bødker (Nairobi City Cycling Club) and Robin Fillingham (Scruf) were also very happy to be in the podium.

Day 56 - Just after 2 days the Zyte Division will have another classic. This time in France in the Grasse - Toulon Leon Bødker (Nairobi City Cycling Club) made the perfect week by getting 2nd and 1st in 2 classics in just 2 days diference. Nicolas Brunschwig (The Doomsday Bunnies) and David Pires (Greenride) completed the podium. It was the 2nd podium in a classic for the

Portuguese sprinter.

Day 61 - The last cobbler classic of the season (Astana GP) had the most unbelievable winner... Guess who, Cary Shutts (Torreira). Who would say he would win this? And it is his 2nd podium in a classic! OMG! Sieuwerd Schimmel (Team RI) almost got the result he was looking for and even so he gave the team 3 podiums out of 3 classics. Pascal Juszczak (Legia) came 3rd.

Day 65 - Just 4 days after the last classic, Helsinki GP gave us a winner who was looking for a result like this for a long time, Jaroslav Brychta (FFL). Nicolai Hermansen (JJL24SS) and Jan-Joost Dussel (peddelen) came 2nd and 3rd. Patya Gordeyeva (Yuri SuperTeam) wasn’t able to get his 3rd win in a row in Helsinky GP. He would for sure make history.

Day 70 - After looking at the riders present many asked why this was called Mini. It’s only because 5 days before we had a classic called Helsinki GP, so this should have a different name. The beast Lean Ahnfeldt-Mollerup (ABK) took the big prize home and Damario Barba (Luveaucek) and David Pires (Greenride) completed the podium. And what a podium!!!

Day 71 - The Big One: Germany Tour. Elton Lonergans (johny2) superb TT skils and ability to hang on in the mountains gave him the win in the most prestigious tour of them all. Superman Jens Wasbergen (The Killers) took the sprinting classification while Tonio Castulo (EEO) won his 3th youth classification in one season. Amazing stuff.

Day 75 - The last classic of the season was a climbing one. Critérium La Provence was THE win from Lloyd Vonk (Club Ciclista Riaza) for sure he won’t forget it soon. Keegan Shiable (Team Kernow) finished 2nd for the 2nd time and Edric Seese (scuppernong) came 3rd.

Day 76 - Laurits Junker, world ITT champion, made a move just like Pauli Michielsen. This time from Legia to Team Washo.

Day 79 - In his last appearance for now hibernating team alberta 1 Conrado Fraga gave his all in the Nederlandse Tour. 3 stage wins and a 2nd place proved to much for young star Rytis Kondrotas (Red Star) who did win the YC in the end. David Pires (greenride) completed the podium.

Day 88 - Marked the end of the competition. Now we will only have the WC.

Day 89 - The fever from the World Championships is back and for the first time in Sweden. And guess what, Peter Gorlovich (Team Whalers) brought home the rainbow jersey! A deserved winner many said. EEO placed 2 riders in the rest of the podium Harley Patrick and Darius
Delmas. Will they manage to get the Top spot next season?

Day 90 - The season is over! And what a WC like this to finish this season. Jaroslav Brychta (FFL) won after a fantastic season! Curt Goodrich (scuppernong) made a brilliant 2nd place and the top star Jens Waesbergen (The Killers) finished 3rd. Let the season 17 come!
