Russel to 1414

In this week's second look at managers' writing, we feature another manager who is part of SNAOTR; indeed one of the founding fathers of the newly formed Union.

The latest SNAOTR trade news shocked a nation Monday as trackstah07 announced that Kirk Russel would soon be traded to lastplace1414 in exchange for recently acquired Benedetto Nenza and cash.

Russel, the last remaining founding member of trackstah07, had served as the team's captain for more than a season before settling into a co-captain role with Erskine Pettis earlier this year.

The deal is set to take place on November 18th, immediately following the release of Jakob Ullum. Russel will be traded for Nenza and $75,000.

  Russel, who turned 30

today, has stated his intent to spend two years with 1414 before combing the transfer market for opportunities to finish his career abroad. "I've always wanted to live in a beautiful country like Italy," Russel told TMZ.com yesterday.

In an interesting move, Nenza will return to 1414 upon Russel's departure.

"This is a two-way, two-year loan, essentially," said trackstah07 manager Eric Place. "lastplace1414 manager Brian Place and I have determined that the trade will be mutually beneficial in helping us diversify and strengthen."

"This 'Symbiotic North American OCM Trade Relationship' is really starting to confuse me," said Quade Zeman. "The deals are all very complex, with so many different moving pieces..."

"I look forward to welcoming another Italian to the team," added Guglielmo Enrico, a recent addition from fellow SNAOTR member alberta

1.

lastplace1414's Taymullah Burhan was very happy to hear that Russel would be rejoining him. "Kirk was a great teammate when I was with trackstah07," said Burhan.

Russel's departure will leave the American team with no American riders. Rumors that the team's American service mechanic, Irvin Hoffman, will suit up and ride in Rolleston Time Trial have been dismissed as mere speculation, but Place has noted that the idea is not entirely out of the picture [given consumer demand for a national rider on the team with the American flag on its jersey].

Russel and Pettis appear poised to face off in Classic Oslo in just over a month. Russel is the defending champion of the race.

Russel's last race with trackstah07 will be Critérium la Grasse, where he finished ninth last year. Russel was inducted into the t07 Ring of Honor at the end of last season.
