That makes Den Haag one of the major cities hosting the United Nations.
Den Haag is also hosting the Division 8 road race Den Haag - Haag. This race is well-known for its start and finish in front of the beautiful Royal Palace at Noordeinde. The route is all about long, often windy, straight roads, so really one for the flat roaders. The riders pass beautiful agricultural areas and ancient cities like Hoek van Holland, Rotterdam, Delft and Leiden before they head back to Den Haag.
The race is known for being a real fysical attrition for the rider. Any rider that wants to win this race must be a master in drafting. That has been proven by the long list of former winners. Mostly a powerful, fysical sprinter with strong support raises his arms here.
