Still on the bridge the castle of Rapperswil comes in sight and through the narrow streets of the old town of Rapperswil the riders head towards the only hill, the Ricken. With an elevation of 790 meters it is the highest point of the race.
After an easy downhill the riders are in a valley called Toggenburg. Formerly the Toggenburg was famous for its industry, but nowadays companies and people are leaving the valley. Quite often it is windy here, riders with the ability to ride fast on the flat surely have an advantage.
The last part of the race is flat and gives the teams with sprinters enough time to prepare for a sprint. Before entering the city of Kreuzlingen the peloton rides a few kilometers alongside Lake Constance. Austria and especially Germany are very close, but the riders stay on the Swiss side of the lake. Arrived in Kreuzlingen the sprinters have to make sure they are in a good position, the finish line at the harbor of Kreuzlingen is close and the best sprinter is going to win.
