The terrain along this route is varied and challenging. As riders make their way towards Salento, they’ll pass through lush valleys and rocky outcrops before taking on the iconic climb up to Salento – a climb steep enough to test even the most experienced cyclists!
Salento itself is a picturesque colonial town located within Colombia’s coffee region. It has a long history that dates back to pre-Colombian times – this region was once home to some of Colombia’s indigenous peoples before being taken over by Spanish conquistadors in 1537. This rich cultural heritage can still be seen today in buildings such as La Casa del Corregidor, which was built during colonial times and still stands today!
La Calle Real de Salento is a race that demands a combination of strength and endurance.
