The entirety of the VC Monptellier squad have only ever experienced the illusion of Top Form once in their careers. Shortly after signing their first contracts, all the riders peak for a short period before falling into the steadiest mediocrity of race performances.
For the first time as a manager, I decided it would be a suitable time to play with Top Form as Lane Langevin has been maxed. His first race back being perfectly suited for Langewin (the combination of uphill time trial is superb), we expect him to kick off his new position as a leader of the team in the best way possible. What other races will suit him it remains to be seen, though if the team can get entries into further Tours, it's likely that he'll be the lead man until a suitable candidate is found to target those specifically.
In other news, another of our riders has had his name selected out the hat for possible National Team call up. The second man to be selected in the team for Top Form recharge, Oli Jokulsson, has also received the shortest of texts informing of his possible future team place for the Faroe Islands. Hopefully once Oli has finished his training he'll be of greater use to both the team and to his National Squad. It must be noted however that Oli is the last of the "crap" riders I ever plan on training. Whilst it's worked out for me in the past training mediocre riders, I'm purely on the look out for either "good" all rounders, or "very good "specialised riders.
I can only hope that the Talent system continues to work...
