For the 3rd time in the last 2 weeks injury has struck Team Grant Thornton. The latest victim is 21 year old trainee Emmanuel Locklin. The combination of rigorous training and racing on the off days has pushed him too far and he will be out until day 71.
When talking with the team doctor, "He's still a kid and he is always pushing himself to the limit. As a staff we talked to him about the possibility of him riding the last race as a practice race since he was racing in back to back days and he wouldn't hear of it. That type of drive is what has gotten him to where he is (46AV and still unmaxed) so its good but he also needs to learn when to rest."
Manager Armstrong was quoted saying that the earliest he could begin racing again is day 75.
