About eight seasons ago, Red Brigade Cycling Team saw first light. Since he was having trouble with booking results, the team’s manager DaanVA soon lost interest. Two years later he is back and eager to build a team that might someday become a force in cycling.
Rebuilding the team started with some rigorous decisions. DaanVA was confronted with an old team and no money in his account. After getting his riders back in shape, he earned some money by taking his riders of the road and sending them to do some jobs. Unfortunately, the team also had to let go some of its older riders to create room for a new generation and new captains.
In the meantime Donny Bruggen was hired as a captain. Donny proved his worth to the team by immediately winning 2 time trials in the beginner division. However, division 8 proved to be too much of a challenge for him. After being with the team for half a season, the team thanked him for his efforts and let him go as well.
The future of Red Brigade CT now rests on the shoulders of a young man, Lai Ruilong. The talented Hong Kong-rider has a nice punch uphill and possesses a strong pair of sprinting legs as well. All efforts of the team will now focus on creating an environment that fosters the development of Lai, hoping that he will reach his full potential and prove his value to the team.
