Five Hoosier State Cycling riders finished in the top nine of Le Bourg - La Baine for the team's first Season 24 race. New signee Fidelio Rinnolo led things off with a second place finish, followed closely by fellow Italian Tiberio Milesi.
"I'm very happy to see our new Italian 1-2 punch on form so early," said team DS Clarence Beagle. "We're going to choose our spots a bit more wisely this year and try to get a real podium contender on the line for each race. Having this success without our two captains [injured Solomon Henschel and trainee Van Landry] gives the team an even bigger boost."
Team Bouygues rider Maikel Sagaja blasted up the final hill to victory, followed closely by Rinnolo and Milesi. Hoosier State Cycling riders Ezra Pursley, Walter Oster, and Ethan Perkins finished 7-8-9, 30 seconds back. Perkins led an early breakaway and hung on for the second top-nine finish of his young career.
