The 17th Germany tour has commenced, and the peloton is about to depart from Kiel toward Berlin. Wajeeh Essam wrestled with his newly trained time trialing skills and posted an average prologue time, finishing 18th. He should fare much better in Munich, assuming the squad can keep him safe over the next few stages. The team will struggle to keep Wajeeh at the front though, as they lack all of Luveaucek's many lead outs from Kiel to Heidelberg.
Once there, Desmond and Pomeroy are openly discussing breaking away in dispute, but it appears to be "all in good fun." Time will reveal all. It is also rumored that, if Wajeeh performs very well throughout the tour, he may get a WC bid over Barba this season.
