World Championships

Written by scuppernong at 23:56 13/10-2008

  The Scuppernong camp are ecstatic after a more than creditable 6th place in the World Championships by Delmar Vancleave.

  After the race he told the hundreds of paparazzi present;

  "I am so happy with this position. Although it isn't just me, it is all of the team that has helped me. I was spurred on after i saw Gregory Ash injured after only 10km. I saw a screw loosen on his right stabilizer, before it fell off and then he veared across the road and ended up hitting a car, being thrown over his handlebars and landing head first in a wheelie bin that was awaiting collection. It was rather amusing"

  The scuppernong team also had a race making the world championships themselves, after only getting inside the top 50 with a couple of days to spare.

  It brings to an end a season that has been about restructuring the team so that hopefully they will soon be able to challenge the big boys over the next season.
