Busy Period

Written by Toma Pro CST at 14:06 8/8-2010

  A Succesfull Period

As a manager of Toma Pro CST I’m able to tell you that not only myself, but also the sponsors are very happy with the result of the last few races. A bit disappointing is the fact that the last few races ended up in results like 6th two times, ones 8th and ones 5th. So no results which count for the statistics. But still, we are very glad that the team does so well in the higher divisions, something we didn’t expect.

We were absolutely trilled when we got promoted to the 3rd Division, but never thought that we end up in the 2nd Zyte Division so early. Our team did a really great job this season which is shown in the facts of our results and the standings at the moment. With captains Lowie Batenburg, winning the Lyon GP in the 3rd Division, we moved ahead quickly, also a second and third place gave us a lot of points to move forward at high speed.

Next to our Dutch sprinting talent we also have the more experienced climber Filippus Sijmonds, he is a great average rider with still a lot of potential because Sijmonds isn’t maxed yet. We are still training his technique, then some time trial and flat training if that’s still possible then. Filippus is not really a winner and doesn’t show up on the podium like Batenburg does, but still he brings in a nice number of points and money within the team. Next to, of course, all the media attention which is very important for our sponsors.

  Proud

Is what we are, because Batenburg belongs to the 10 best riders of the Netherlands with an average of 50. But also Sijmonds is within the 20th best of is home country, so we hope that they will get some invitations for CoN races. They will draw more attention to the team and for our sponsors, hoping we will get a little bit more money out of this, we know that they won’t be captains if they got invited but that’s certainly no problem for us and for the riders neither.

The next rider which is on the list for training sessions is Reinout Veldkamp, in the beginning he has to learn and be the lead out for Batenburg but with a Very Good potential on sprinting he could beat Lowie once he’s completely maxed. Reinout also has Small potential in both technique and flat road, and a Average in cobbles. We hope he could do well in the northern cobble races but we don’t think he’s good enough for the climb on the podium in cobble races.

Some new riders are the Italian Curtolo, and the two Dutchman Asselsbergs and Peeters, all three are Good in climbing and could be some great teammates. Curtolo already is because the management both this young Italian for 85k, but now the team rides at such a high level it’s hard to go for his own chances. In the near future we are still looking for some extra power in the team, we have two scouts which been to Italy, Belgium and Denmark and are wish list is ready. Now we first have to earn some money.

  First Tour

That money we might earn in our first tour, Cymru Taith. This tour which is been held in Wales contains three stages. The first one is very hilly and will probably split the peloton in to several groups, the second stage is a ITT which will be held in the morning. Again this ITT is also very hilly and will demand full control of body and bike of the rider. The last stage is also the only one we might have a small chance of a results. A sprinting stage with a few hills which demand a lot of technique. But first we are going to ride Mito – Tokyo, this classic is on the upcoming Monday and Cymru Taith starts the Saturday after. But we are looking forward to both of the races and are proud to be on the starting list, hopefully we also end up with some results…

That's true but I would like to get some results for my shop! As written in the text, Sijmonds is NOT maxed yet. So I consider myself very lucky having Batenburg with 50 AV and Sijmonds who could reach that either. Both of my starting squad!

Team Kernow at 13:04 9/8-2010
well done, although its when you start getting the 10th, 11th and 12th places is when your allowed to get dissappionted :P.
