Today we said farewell to our respected Ezequiel.
A son of Meta, born in Villavicencio, Ezequiel Montolio was drawn to the mountains from a young age. Being the kid that could not sit still he was given a bike to keep him occupied.
With his new bike he ventured into the mountains surrounding his hometown. Many bikes later he was given the opportunity to train his talents with the Colombian team of Abelixe.
He spend five seasons with this team but being a young gun he was not given captaincy. Two top ten place was all he was able to deliver and it was time to move to Europe. France was the destination when he found Team Dopage that saw in him a good rider for his team.
Three seasons riding for Team Dopage. Those were terrible seasons, an eight place was all he could deliver. And instead of the promised captain spot he was again a teammate.
But there was a white knight, rejuvenated Drapeau Noir needed a captain. He was transferred into the low leagues of OCM and gave his team manager Delion a win in Denmark. His first ever, Skive - Skive was his maiden victory and it finally started to look good. Some good results saw his team climb the ranks and the next season he did what was meant to be. Winning in Top division, Whispers of the Oman Desert. His biggest victory yet.
Ezequiel Montolio wanted to go home after so many years in France. New Colombian team NightmareChaos used his connection to transfer him back home. The Colombian captain for a Colombian team he always wanted to be. He would deliver a victory in North Korea with the Anju- Anju race and his best result and a proud Colombian moment. Winning the Namibian tour
Odyssey of the Oryx. With overwhelming power, a stage win and two second places was enough to make his wish come true. Be a good captain.
Fourteen seasons ago a boy came in the sports of cycling and now a man is about to leave. Not a big winner but a respected rider with some nice stories to tell to his children. Home is calling for Ezequiel and Ezequiel is going home.
