The northern Swedish based team, Team Norrland, recently participated in two race in Oceania on various terrain: the Hobart Twiligth Criterium in Tasmania and the Nowra-Wilton race in NZ. The goal was triple: to offer to the team a different perspective of racing, to get some points and some cash. The later two goal were absolutely not achieved.
The criterium saw Morton Idhammar getting a 5th place and Verner Ulvesson was 8th. They were the only two satisfaction of the day. The race in NZ would normally have suited Team Norrland, a climbing team. Unfortunately the best result was only the 15th place of Brent McColl.
Team Manager said: “ Our hopes were very high for those two races. Unfortunately weather was treacherous: it was very hot and dry. My team, which trains in the northern part of sweden, dark and cold, was not used to this type of weather. But we will come back stronger. Now it is to rest and focus on the end of the season.”
