The World Tour Needs You!

Any manager can become national team manager! So if you're interested in basically running a second team with only the top riders of your nation, competing with all the big stars of the game, hop on board! Even not actively taking part, the World Tour is a thrilling ride to just to watch on screen. On a weekly basis, across four divisions, nations try to climb the rankings and conquer the Cycling Simulator elite. Next season, quite a bit of extensive visible coverage has been planned, for now this is the main link:

  https://www.cyclingsimulator.com/?page=World%20Tour

As you can see on the bottom of that page, many nations have a national team manager, but quite a few still don't. Countries like Austria and Brazil are missing in action completely, others like Norway, Romania and Wales have been missing a lot of signups lately and perhaps are ready for a new chief. Also, some managers just took the job and simply held on to it for a long time because no one else showed interest; that's where you might come in handy. Read the forum, shoot me a message, have fun!

  World Tour History

Wanna win, you have to beat the Dutch, that's just the way it is. Completely dominating all all-time rankings, The Netherlands has always been the biggest powerhouse. Having the most world class riders available obviously helps, but consistency is key, micromanagement, backed up by a strong community. Friendly advice: never underestimate their southern

neighbours, the only other recent WT winner Belgium.

Ever since season 10 (!), the fight has been epic, with a few usual suspects but just as many surprises along the way. Denmark and Poland, Italy, England and Australia all took home the trophy at one point in time. The game itself doesn't save these statistics, but there's always someone willing to compile massive data:

For many smaller nations, qualifying for the Clash of Nations is the big achievement worth striving for. Starting on day 30, the then top 20 in the ranking compete in a seven-day super-clash, covering all disciplines and requiring utmost attention from everyone involved. There is no official ranking for the CoN, 'just part of the World Tour', but rest assured, it's held in high regard. With a lot of points on the table, just one great day can make all the difference. Past winners include USA, Canada and Portugal, while other never-expected flags showed up on the podium.

  Season 75 Review

The story of last season, cheered on by all other leaders for all the right reasons, was clearly Greenland. Kristian Grønkjær stunned the globe by winning no less

than four World Tour races, including two by breakaway!! A measly 10 points kept the proud nation from winning the Clash of Nations, but a World Tour bronze medal felt like gold. This just goes to show you, anything is possible; smaller nations really just need one big boost in order to surprise, especially if bigger names faulter slightly. With its current manager though, silver medalist Germany is now stronger than ever. And in the end, the Dutch win. There's this neat final standing, voluntarily created and shared on Discord, yet another sign that the World Tour is ready for better coverage and more exposure:

  Season 76 Preview

What will happen next season? No one knows, that's the beauty of it! Several nations already have a brand new manager at the helm, hoping to improve on or at least repeat most recent results. Greenland might have a hard time repeating that podium finish, because breakaway results are just hard to come by, but fingers are crossed they'll succeed in defending their position. The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium are favorites again, perhaps Spain and France will be able to return to the top, but if you're looking for odds actually worth betting on, try Laos and Burundi.

Or even better, take things into your own hand and apply for the position of national team manager yourself. If not now, perhaps next season you'll be ready for it, just get involved for starters. International glory is closer than you think!

Nicely written Menni! Lets get WT the attention it deserves

Stroopwafel at 22:50 10/1-2026
Amen to that! Actual race coverage coming up next season, right around the corner.

Silver Giant at 23:18 10/1-2026
Excellent read Menni. Glad you mentioned Laos who would’ve been the big story this season if it wasn’t for Greenland.

ProgressTeam at 00:26 11/1-2026
I think that being able to manage a national team of a country other than your own could help increase activity among the smaller ones :) I’d be up for it.

Kristian Grønkjær was incredible this season. It's a shame he snatched a few points from Laos and Kholy, but I'm still happy that Kholy could be a part of Laos' success this season :) 3rd place in the individual overall standings? Shocking!

  P.S. Great article!

Amstel Flanders at 01:41 11/1-2026
  I can't, I was canceled by industry.

Team DSM at 08:37 11/1-2026
  Great article Menni

TeamTVM at 10:42 11/1-2026
Very nice reading, thanks Menni. Thanks also for emphasizing Gronkjaer's outstanding season !
With a one nation team, you have weaker riders, but you can really optimize DP/RS/TS for the WT events and that helps quite a lot.
See you next season, and hope more managers enter the WT game, it is a real add-on to the OCML tour.

Stroopwafel at 16:07 11/1-2026
Thanks y'all. Let's make next World Tour season a lively one!

depadvinders at 17:22 12/1-2026
  Nice article Menni!

Let's see if we can improve next season.

And also for the small countries, it's really fun to participate in the WT.

Stroopwafel at 22:49 13/1-2026
It's actually working; managers i've never heard of are messaging me they wanna take over :). Ye're all welcome!

HaTops at 10:53 14/1-2026
Great to see that it is working!

Tashkent Browncoats at 17:42 20/1-2026
Great effort, the WT is such a nice little subcommunity. And it is lovely that there are more managers signing up!

And in the end, the Dutch win. Heh.

Stroopwafel at 21:38 20/1-2026
Don't forget to sign up y'all!

Team Formand United at 14:10 1/2-2026
I was dumped too. User interface was really lacking in the national department. Destroyed the hunger and game happiness for me. Took longer to manager than normal OCM for sure.

Swashbucklers at 19:34 3/2-2026
There's actually a WT? Wow, I've been in OCM for some 15 odd years or so on one team or the other. Although being the US manager several years ago and doing it for several seasons the interface was bad, like Team Formand United mentioned, and not easy to even access. To this day, there are still no easy ways to even access it to look at the races, to sign up to be manager or whatever. Everything is apparently on the forum, like everything else and things really should be updated. There are questions that could be asked, like can a non member of the nations of Austria and Brazil which are missing in action completely, with others like Norway, Romania and Wales allowed to manage these teams? I wouldn't mind giving it a try again but like I said, how do you even find the thing in an easier manner? lol

Stroopwafel at 06:23 4/2-2026
The entire game is flawed, that doesn't set the WT apart :). And indeed, many answers can be found on the forum, especially if you ask. As of yet, you can only apply to be manager of your own team's nation. That thread is pinned, easy peasy.

Skudehavnen CC at 18:23 13/2-2026
Great article - interessting reading - Thanks Menni

Maybe the interface ain't flawless, but its a hell of a fun time being national coach - comes from a NC that just had 280 points in one kill :))
