Apparently one of his closest relatives is Manouchehr Jamalzadeh, doctor at Team Oasis. Manouchehr admitted he was behind the message, but he had no other option. He explained that refugees could receive punishments when heading back to the motherland. Coming back as part of the nations pride might make a huge difference.
Though Team Oasis is not known for being an altruistic institution, its doctor hit a soft spot. Thus negotiations took place and compensation for the bike shop was arranged. Bahram had certainly some skills on the flat, for time trails and a little bit for hilly terrain. That helped to make a stronger cases for repatriation. Problem was that he was a bit chubby. Training took place but he couldn't really get enough in shape and handle the intensity. So he got stuck at being a decent flat rider and mediocre hilly support.
Eventually Bahram mostly hung around and did nothing. Every so now and then he was send to do some job, or to run some errands. A waste of precious resources? Likely, but he was a well-loved part of the Oasis family. And we all know you can't put a price tag on family.
