Close to Zell am See, location of a Division 8 Classic in Uttendorf, the peloton starts off from the valley looking up towards the mighty Großglockner Mountainthat forms the end of this 102 km classic. Not long after the race has been initiated the peloton will enter the hilly roads leading pass Mittersill towards the Felbertauern tunnel entering into East Tirol and the massive climbs of the race.

Following the tunnel surpassing the Schwarzer See, the peloton is in Climber’s Paradise and certain team mates must wonder why they were chosen for this race, as most would rather stay at the Hotel drinking Austrian Gössers’. Now they begin to ascend the Großvenediger, the first mountain of the race. When reaching the top and initiating the incredibly hard downhill, rider’s; "will to live" is tested having in mind, that following arriving to the valley of Matrei in Osttirol, the climb of the mighty snow-capped Großglockner will begin. Grossglockner is a very steep tough climb giving many possibilities for the best climbers in the peloton and only the best will succeed winning the race.

The terrain in Uttendorf - Matrei in Osttirol includes many very steep and hard climbs and has a few incredibly hard downhills. The terrain includes an average amount of hills and has no flat distances. The finishing of the stage is a very steep tough climb giving many possibilities for the best climbers in the peleton.
