Read moreThessaloniki hosts the annual Thessaloniki TT. 34 kilometers against the clock in the second-largest city of Greece. Besides the annual time trial, Thessaloniki is known for its festivals, cultural life and their major transportation hub. The harbour of Thessaloniki is an important chain in the supply of goods in southeastern Europe.
Since the harbour is of such importance for the region, the local authorities and the tourism board decided that the start of the time trial will take place there. After the riders leave the harbour they will face a lot of narrow alleys that will lead them to the outskirts of Thessaloniki. In these outskirts the riders will notice that the route becomes a climbing effort. The finish line is drawn next to the ‘Theatro Gis’ (Earth Theater).
Although the riders won’t face the hills just outside the city the route does contain some uphill roads that do not favor the pure time trialists.
