The first climb comes just after setting off from the start line, and riders will reach the top after only 10km. After that, the terrain becomes even more difficult, with small climbs and hills taking them into the heart of Trinidad and Tobago's lush countryside. Along the way, riders will take in stunning views of rolling hills, lush forests and rivers, taking in glimpses of beautiful Caribbean beaches as they make their way back to Port Of Spain.
The city itself is steeped in history - once a hub for Spanish traders it is now home to vibrant culture and music scenes. Riders will be able to catch glimpses of colonial architecture along their journey, as well as modern landmarks like Queen’s Park Savannah. For this race it appears an experienced climber with good endurance will have an advantage - they'll need strength on the hills but also enough energy left for a sprint finish into Port Of Spain!
