The peloton starts from Poznan, one of the oldest cities in Poland and heads south-west through the fields to Zielona Gora. The town is known for the wine festival taking place at the beggining of September, but the riders will not have time to taste local drinks, because they still need to cover over 160kms to Wroclaw.
This second part of the race is more demanding as the road evolves from flat to a hilly course. Riders pass the town of Polkowice, which is a home to the best Polish professional cycling team and pay a short visit to Lubin, a large scale producer of silver and copper.
Once the riders finally reach Wroclaw they will be very exhausted after having over 280kms in their legs, so only the strongest guys with great stamina and big motivation will be actually able to launch the final sprint to the line.
