Local governement took the opportunity to promote this historical and beautiful place by organizing a race called simply Poznan - Poznan. The start usually takes place in front of the Cathedral and then the race leads through several small towns around Poznan like Bnin or Giecz, which were the main settlements at the very begginig of Polish history. To make the finish more interesting, the final 4 km are being raced at the Poznan Motor Racing Track.
In addition to the usual trophy, the podium winners get a handful of locally produced Saint Martin Croissants with white-poppy seeds and crushed almonds, just to make their life even more sweet!
