Covering 211 km, the route seamlessly blends Mediterranean charm with a challenging parcours designed to excite sprinters.
With a mix of coastal roads, rolling terrain, and a flat, high-speed finale, this race promises drama from start to finish.
The race kicks off in Marseille’s historic Old Port, where the riders roll out under the shadow of the iconic Notre-Dame de la Garde.
A fast-paced start along the scenic Mediterranean coastline sets the stage as the peloton weaves through picturesque towns like Cassis and La Ciotat, where gentle rolling terrain keeps the riders active early on.
The first half of the race features small uncategorized climbs perfect for early breakaways. The road hugs the coast, offering spectacular sea views, before heading inland through Provence’s vineyards and olive groves.
As the race progresses, the terrain flattens, favoring the chase and setting the sprinters’ teams into action.
The peloton skirts around the Esterel Massif, offering brief challenges on the undulating roads near Cannes, but the decisive moments will come in the closing kilometers.
The final approach into Nice is a showcase of speed and strategy. Riders rejoin the coastline, entering the famed Promenade des Anglais for a 3 km flat, straight run-in to the finish.
The wide, smooth boulevard is perfectly suited for a mass sprint, with team trains jockeying for position and the fastest legs battling for glory.
With its mix of coastal beauty and fast-paced action, the Marseille-to-Nice Challenge is a premier race on the Mediterranean, offering both tactical intrigue and a dramatic finale. It’s a day for the sprinters to etch their names into the Riviera’s racing history.
