The race is a circuit of 12.3km that riders have to run 10 times. It starts and finishes at Maasmechelen Village, the main sponsor of the event. The first two kilometers leads the riders straight to the Maas. Then they take a big turn to the right and follow The Maas for around 7km's. It is often windy which increases the chances of "waaiers". On the left side of the road you can see Holland, the suburbs of Sittard. Instead of taking a left turn and go over a bridge towards Sittard, they take a big U-turn that brings us straight back to Maasmechelen Village. It's over here where the cobbles come into play. A flat 2km cobbled road that brings us towards the "flamme rouge". The last kilometer is flat untill the last 200meters which has a slope of 5%.
All in all this race is suited for strong allrounders who are not affraid off the wind.
