The race starts in Kutna Hora, a medieval city with a UNESCO World Heritage Site city center, which forms the scenery for the start. On their way out of Kutna Hora they will pass the Sedlec Ossuary, a chapel decorated with the bones of 40,000 to 70,000 dead humans. A macabre scene it is, but the riders being under 23yo will think they are immortal, that death is something that happens to other people. What they do not realise is that in 100 years they will all be gone and just one will be remembered as the winner while the bones in the Sedlec Ossuary will still be there.
While Kutna Hora and Milovice are just 45km apart as the crow flies, the race is 159km long. To reach that distance the riders will twist and turn their way through the Czech country side. Up and down small steep hills, through cobbled city centers, even reaching the narrow cobbled streets of the capital Prague.
Just as the riders are getting crossed-eyed from exhaustion and all the turning, they reach the city of Milovice. A small town of just about 10,000 inhabitants, with an abandoned Soviet military base. That is where the remaining riders will decide who goes in the history books as a winner and who will be forgotten. If the forgotten riders are lucky maybe their bones will one day be used to decorate a chapel.
