Situated in the Valley of the Inn River in the Tyrolean Oberland (Austria), Landeck deserves to be the perfect place for a 1st division race. Taking place in confluence of the the Lechtal Alps, part of the Northern Limestone Alps in the north, and the Ötztal Alps and Samnaun Alps ranges of the Central Eastern Alps in the south, the contestants will need to work hard to keep in front. Going from flat roads in the bottom in the valley along the historic "Via Claudia Augusta" to the small slopes of the surrounding Walds (Forrests) on the alps will test any rider in the pack.
Like the Roman Legions that travelled along the "Via Claudia Augusta" from the Po River to Sourthern Germania, the riders will need to prove robust before the finish in the village of Landeck. The race ends in an easy long sprint on the Fischerstrasse leading up to the Marketplatz where the podium is placed to crown the winner. The winner of the Landeck Kriterium will likely have a broad skill-set and a strong team leading him to victory.
